This table was constructed after initially ordering a table online, and sadly was delivered broken. It was a hard lesson learned that some materials are much more difficult to ship than others. But it also forced me to design and craft a table that has been a staple in our home which gets used every day.
The base is welded 2″ square tube that was stripped of the mill scale protective coating, and lightly brushed with a protective coating. Sitting on top of that would be about 400lbs of concrete reinforced with a metal grid to keep the concrete together. This concrete table has seen many years of enjoyment and abuse alike, including people jumping on it. The concrete was dyed during mixing, so the dark charcoal color is present through the entire pour.
