As a drummer, it’s easy to collect a lot of gear, and storing it can be somewhat of a problem. So, the solution was to build a shelving system that could handle different sizes of drums, various cymbals, and hardware. My particular set of drums are made of popular, which is a lightweight wood. This allowed me to construct the shelving with half inch steel, and made the shelving unit easy to move if needed. For heavier weight, something like this could be made with 1″ steel tube and reinforcement under the shelves – adding more rigidity and the ability to carry much heavier loads.
